Canakkale Teknopark

Background and experience

Canakkale Teknoloji Gelistirme Bolgesi (CT) was established on 31.05.2012 and started its activities on 06.04.2014. The area of the region is 135.000 m² in total. 40.000 m² of the area is for R & D and project investment areas, 40.000 m² of the area is for open social cultural areas and social facilities, the remaining part is for R & D office areas, administrative units, technology transfer office, pre-incubation and incubation centers. Canakkale Teknopark Administrative Building was opened on 17 February 2019 with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The new building, which started operations with 75 leasable offices, 8 laboratories, pre-incubation-incubation centers, seminar-meeting rooms and common areas, has a closed area of 8,500 square meters. Canakkale Teknopark provides its companies management support, consultancy on technical and administrative issues, and networking services for critical collaborations. In addition, he mentors students on business idea development and business model creation, and organizes various trainings and events under the headings of entrepreneurship, innovation and legislation. In order to transform projects and academic studies developed at Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University into value added products, it provides information and consultancy services on intellectual property rights and guides its entrepreneurs on issues such as corporatization, commercialization and internationalization. Canakkale Teknopark widens its investments and services to its entrepreneurs and the region with Facebook Station Canakkale Regional Community Center, Protothinks Prototype Center and Digital Content Development Center. Being the region’s most innovative technopark, Canakkale Teknoloji Gelistirme Bolgesi (CT)’s goal is to provide contemporary infrastructure to the researchers and companies that develop and produce the technologies which will elevate the international competitiveness of the country. With its activities to facilitate university-industry collaboration, CT is the catalyst for synergy between the parties. With its more than (42) tenant companies, (100%) of which were initiated in its premises and employ more than 300 personnel, 80 % of which have bachelor, master or PhD degrees and with the 8.500 square meters of closed area reserved for R&D operations, CT has undersigned exemplary success stories to serve as a model for other technoparks in Turkey. The companies that are operating at CT are involved in R&D activities of (%50) software and information technologies, (9%) digital contents, (7%) machinery, (4,6%) food, (%4,6) agriculture, (4,6%) biotechnology, (2,3%) advanced materials, (2,3%) geology, (2,3%) electromagnetic systems and the others.

Dr. Erkan Bil

He completed his doctoral studies in Uludağ University Production Management and Marketing Science. After completing his internship at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Turkish Eximbank, the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Treasury and the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, Dr. Bil later served as a member of the board of directors in the private sector, national and international organizations, as a general manager, and as a consultant for many domestic / foreign investments and projects. In addition to many trainings and conferences he has given in the field of European Union Financial Cooperation and Project Management since 2005, he worked as an Independent External Evaluator at the Center for EU Education and Youth Programs of the Ministry of European Union between 2010-2014. He is a Member of the Board of Directors and the General Manager of Çanakkale Technology Development Zone Inc. since September 2015. He has many research and scientific publications on Technology, Entrepreneurship and Marketing, especially on Digital Marketing, Technological Product Development, International Marketing, R&D and Innovation.

Kadir YILMAZ

He is working as a Technology Transfer Expert at CT and provides mentorship support to entrepreneur candidates. He was working at Istanbul University Technology Transfer Center as “Coordinator of Support Programmes Management for R&D Projects” and Technology Transfer Expert.

Dr. Savaş Gürdal

He pioneered the establishment of the Istanbul University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center and worked in Istanbul Teknokent A.Ş. as the “R&D Manager Responsible for Technology Transfer Office”.

Burcu KAYACI

She has been working as a Project and Business Development Senior Specialist in Çanakkale Technology Development Zone (Çanakkale Technopark) since March 2018. She is is currently the assistant coordinator of two separate projects supported by the South Marmara Development Agency.
